What are new pedagogical challenges of design education? How can we implement practices as artistic research, interdisciplinary cooperation and professional projects in our curriculum in such a way that they will enable our students to experiment with the interaction between their own ideas, insights, wishes and the reality they will face when leaving school, and thus enable them to shape their future profession.
In Utrecht we designed a program which we call ‘the membrane project’. We worked on new forms of interaction between students, teachers and clients. We invented new roles and new kind of relations.
In this working group we like to share the ideas we got from this project with other schools working on the same issues.
We search for partner schools to build a network to exchange experience and learn from each other’s approaches. Please join us in this new network we want to build around the new challenges of design education.
